It is highly recommended that the participants undergo a thorough medical examination before entering the race. The organisers will not ask for medical certificates from any athlete (male and female) since they all participate at their own exclusive risk and responsibility (parents or guardians have liability for their children). We will also provide offers for a special health check-up for all runners, and members of their families.
Runners should have their own bottle of water. No bottles will be provided at the aid stations.
For the 24km Race there will be aid stations at the 2km, 5.5km, 6.5km, 9.7km, 12.4km, 17,5 km.
For the 10km Race there will be aid stations at the 2.5km, 4.5km, 6.5km.

Attention: Your time will not be registered and will not be included in the results if you do not have the timing chip attached to your shoe or if you fail to pass over the timing mats.
The first three male and female winners of each race will be awarded. All participants in both races will receive a commemorative medal.
The race is organized by the joint venture ‘Andros Trail Race’ (Trekking Andros & Outdoor Activities and Centro Café) and the municipality of Andros and the prefecture of South Aegean.

Andros Island is the northernmost and second biggest of the Cyclades Islands; a high quality alternative destination, with a history dating back to ancient times, numerous sightseeing attractions and many inhabited areas to visit. A fairly green island compared to the rest of the Cyclades, Andros offers some really nice beaches, pretty little villages and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere.
The capital of the island, Hora is the homeland of famous Greek captains and ship owners of the past, and there is a remarkable combination of medieval, neoclassical and island style evident in their houses. Elegant staircases, a spacious square with trees, narrow streets, remarkable churches and museums, shops, cafes and restaurant are the main things that visitors will come across.
In addition to the sandy beaches, there are rocky coastlines, mountain ranges alternating with fertile plains, lush vegetation and abundantly flowing streams. Batsi is the most ‘touristically’ developed place in Andros Island and it is surrounded by wonderful beaches, including Golden Beach and Agios Petros.
The coastline of Andros is particularly rugged creating many small, picturesque bays, which mostly have good sandy beaches. Some of the largest bays of the island worth visiting are Gavrio, Batsi, Hora and Korthion, all of which have harbours.Similar is the bay of Fourni and in the north the beach of Agios Petros, which is mentioned by Lloyds as a safe haven for boats.
Andros is absolutely worth visiting and in fact, it can be considered solely a cultural tourism destination, thanks to its museums. The globally acknowledged Museum of Modern Art houses unique collections of paintings and sculptures. The Cyclades Olive Museum is a fine example of a small pre-industrial, animal powered, olive oil producing unit that is definitely a must-see site.
Korthi lies in the southern part of the island. It is crossed by two mountains, Gerakones in the north and Rachi in the south. In between lies the fertile Korthi valley and the impressive gorge in Dipotamata, with plenty of running water and the numerous water-mills. The area dominates the Kastro Faneromenis (Faneromeni Castle), an old middle-ages fortification, with a spectacular view to the Aegean Sea. The village leads to the long road that curves right around the edge of the huge bay. There is a long paved walkway on the seaward side of the road, surrounded by large rocks that have been dumped in the sea to act as a breakwater.
