Health Coverage
In any case all runners participate solely at their own risk. The organizers have no responsibility for whatever happens to the runners related to health issues or is due to lack of preventive medical check. It is highly recommended that the participants undergo a thorough medical examination before entering the race. The organizers will not ask for medical certificates from any athlete (male and female), since they all participate at their own exclusive risk and responsibility (children are at the liability of their parents or guardians). We will also provide offers for special health checkup for all runners, and members of their families.
The Organizing Committee is responsible to provide medical service to the runners by organizing and operating medical stations and units at the start, the finish and throughout the course.
Electronic Timing
All participants will be timed by a timing company using an electronic timing system. For this reason, the runners must wear the timing chip they will receive from the registration center together with the participation number.
Attention: Your time will not be registered and will not be included in the results if you do not have the timing chip attached to your shoe and not pass over the timing mats.
Supply Stations
The organizers provide 7 supply stations for the Half Marathon Race providing water, isotonic drinks and fruits (bananas). For the 5.5 km and the 1km Kids Race there will be 2 supply stations providing water. After the finish of the races, there will be a big buffet with food and drinks for all athletes.
Awards
All participants will receive a commemorative medal, diploma and awards, a technical t-shirt of the race and a bag full with traditional goods. At the finish line there will be traditional treats offer by local professionals, agencies and clubs.
The first runner of each age group (18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+) will be awarded, provided that there are at least three athletes in each group. The three first runners of the general group will be excluded from their age group.
Routes
Start Time of the Half Marathon Race 17:00 am
Start Line: Main Square of Skyros
Course: The race starts from the main square of Skyros and is of exceptional natural beauty. The first 660m are in the Chora on a traditional cobbled path and pass through Brook Square. After we go downhill running on the main street, connecting Chora with the Harbor. The view of the Aegean Sea at our left is magical.
We reach the Aspous area and turn left into an asphalt road. Then the route becomes uphill for about 1km with view of the Kalamitsa gulf. We run downhill again, pass by the harbor and enter the main road. We continue on a parallel with the main road and heading to Chora we cross a piece of pine forest through a small forest road. After we run uphill for 1.5km and passing the dam we see the traditional Chora, with its white houses and the Aegean Sea in distance. Finally we reach the finish line of the race, at the main square of Skyros.

Time limit: The time limit for each runner to complete the Half Marathon Race is set at 3.5 hours. All runners should finish by 20:30 pm.

Course: The race starts from the main square of Skyros and is of exceptional natural beauty. The first 660m are in the Chora on a traditional cobbled path and after we go downhill running on the main street, connecting Chora with the Harbor. We head northwest to the airport and the Manolia area. Then we turn left and running uphill we head to Chora and the main square where we finish.

Time limit: The time limit for each runner to complete the Half Marathon Race is set at 90 min. All runners should finish by 18:40 pm.

Skyros is located almost in the middle of the Aegean Sea and belongs to the Sporades Islands. The island is mostly mountainous and in the northern part you can find a marvelous pine forest. In one way, the northern part is related to the natural landscapes that you encounter in the Sporades and northern Evvoia, while the southern part with the landscapes of southern Evvoia and even the Cyclades.
The capital of the island is Chora or Horio or Skyros, located in the northeastern part of the island to the Aegean Sea. The neighboring settlements of Chora are Magazia, Molos, Gyrismata and Pouria, which extend to the north of the capital towards the sea. On the northern coast, south of Chora, there are also the settlements Aspous and Achilli, while in the northern part of the island there are also the settlements of Trachia, where the airport of Skyros and Atsitsa are located on the west coast. The main harbor is Linaria, on the southwest coast of the bay of the same name, from which the island is also connected by ferry to the rest of Greece. In the adjacent bay extends the settlement of Acherounes and further west the Pefkos. East of Linaria lays the settlement of Kalamitsa, in the homonym bay.
Skyrian horses unique in their kind live in nature in small herds. You will see them run freely on the Ary Plateau, grazing quietly on farms while the history of their origins is fascinating. The Chora is unique. Small white houses full of old ornament, courtyards of undefined shape, with sun-reflecting terraces and care, are poured from the top of the hill through cobblestoned streets. Wood carvings, ceramics, embroidery, high aesthetic creations of another era that are elements of everyday life and continue to this day. The Skyrian dialect spoken in everyday life has its roots in ancient Greek. An idiom that serves the needs of people to communicate with each other and their place.
In Skyros one lives between the past and the present. Walking in the alleyways in the winter, visiting the traditional festivals, the panigiria, listening to the local dialect, reveals a world in another world.
