Back on the gravel road and general direction towards the top where Samadario quickly after 5 kilometers down a dirt road in a well, runner will find the third filling station and immediately enter the path where E4 will lead runners back into the yolks and place in which the first station is now the fourth! The rest is just downhill coming back to Delphi from the path that climbed to the top of the route. Runners are advised to pay attention to the downhill because the spectacular views over the bay of Itea will detach due attention while tilting speed increases!

Delphi is both an archaeological site and a modern town in Greece on the south-western spur of Mount Parnassus in the valley of Phocis. In Greek mythology, Delphi was the site of the Delphic oracle, the most important oracle in the classical Greek world, and a major site for the worship of the god Apollo after he slew the Python, a deity who lived there and protected the navel of the Earth.

The complex of buildings, which includes the Temple of Apollo where sat the famous oracle, the sacred Corycian Cave, and the Castalian Spring, is nestled in the forested slopes and rocky crags on the south side of the sacred mountain called Parnassus. The site had been sacred since at least the Bronze Age Delphi and was regarded as the centre of the world.

According to mythology, it is here that the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world met. The sanctuary of Delphi, set within a most spectacular landscape, was for many centuries the cultural and religious centre and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world.

The region of Delphi is typically Greek countryside: mountainous, with narrow roads. It's nice for hiking and cycling, especially in spring and fall as summer is really hot.

Many cafés and restaurants are located on the valley side of the main street and therefore offer a stunning view over this valley. It is small enough that walking is really the only means of transportation required.
The museum and archaeological site are both in walking distance from the town.
